Cheesy Meatloaf - ugh

This is a recipe that I have made for years...decades really.  Have loved it in the past.  Its probably been at least 7 years since I have made it.  And boy have my tastebuds changed.  This is a recipe that I will never, ever, EVER make again.  Don't even want to share it.  Guess I just am not a fan of cheese in a meatloaf any longer....oh well

Winter Canvas Art

So, can't even believe how long this one took me.  And not only did I have to toss one canvas in the trash....there was just no fixing it.  Today I even burned myself pretty severely with the glue gun....really???  Ugh, didn't realize that making a house more festive could be so dangerous :0)

1...working on the colors, I ended up using a dark, a light medium & then a light
 2.  both canvases painted, first one has its snowflakes.  I can't even draw a stick figure so walmart doo dads were purchased & glued on

 3.  close up of the first canvas done
 4.  in their resting places.  i didn't plan on having the big snowflakes basically in the same spot, but after I burned myself putting the second one on the canvas, it just basically fell there.  so there it stayed.  i was too busy wanting to cry like a big baby....seriously, lol

My First Homemade Christmas Wreath

Jeff requested a wreath....whipped this up real quick this morning, hung up this afternoon.  For my first wreath ever, I am very happy

Floating Christmas Balls

LOVE how this turned out....many hours later.  Hubby had to take many breaks, seems that they got the best of him.

Christmas Season Has Begun

With our move to the new house, we really have tried to make it more of a home, then just someplace to reside.  Today, for the first time in sooooo many years, we started to decorate.  After many long hours, that really flew by, the inside is just about done.  We honestly didn't add anything new.  Wanting to concentrate all of our energy on the outside.  With some lights that we have had for centuries, we began.   Unfortunately, but in a way a good thing...we had to run to Wal-Mart to get some essentials...just to hang up the lights.  Next time we will think ahead.  But what made it a good thing, lol...well I shopped a little bit more and have some goodies for my next craft project.  Anyway....tonight's small but pleasant light show :0)

With it being nighttime, what can't be seen, stockings in the windows (for the cat & the dogs).  More lights should be added tomorrow.  Might have to run to the store to get some more.  Now that Jeff has begun, he doesn't want to stop.

Tybee Island - dolphins!!!!

WOW!!!!  Highlight of the day....dolphins.  Was not expecting it, so was very pleasantly surprised.

Had told Jeff, I think I see something out there & BAMN!!!!  dolphin shows itself.  Spent a good part of our time at Tybee Island chasing at least 4 of these beauties.  A couple times they jumped out of the water, however was not able to get a picture of it...OH well....

Thanksgiving - 2 year ritual

Last year, with me having a litter on the ground, Jeff & I didn't go anywhere or cook for Thanksgiving.  At the last moment we decided to just jump in the car & see if at that time our favorite chinese buffet with sushi restaurant was open.  And it was!!!!!  So we enjoyed a stress free, clean up free, meal.  Also, noticed that there was a man sitting all alone, enjoying his meal.  Even though we never said a word to him, didn't even make eye contact, we paid for his meal.

This year, with our move, no litter on the ground...I was looking forward to having the holidays here.  Invited family on both sides & a friend....well, sigh, a no go.  LOL, seems I can't win no matter what.

So, instead of being all sad, I asked Jeff, why not head to the beach & just sit & chill for a bit....and!!!!  go get some sushi.  Which, he gladly agreed.  I did invite the friend again...never got a yes, never got a no, but she said she would let me know by Wednesday evening...ummmm, its Thursday, you know Turkey Day...still nothing.  I SWEAR!!!!!  This is a holiday!!!!  LOL

So our sushi tradition has begun.  Believe me, I am loving the idea, some sand, some ocean spray...and some sushi....I think this will be a good day :0)

No Go, art project

Yesterdays art project was suppose to have come out wonderfully.  However, what a disaster.  Next time hubby says, can I make a suggestion....I think I will just run out the door screaming.  What was suppose to have been a winter scene wall hanging turned into a blood bath.  Looked at it again this morning...egads...trash it will go

Paw Prints Toy Box

How easy is this?  Take a plain tote & add some acrylic paint & use a stencil.  So simple...wonder why I didn't do this eons ago.

1.  Need a clean storage container.  Some acrylic paint of your choice.  Some sort of painting device.  Tape.

2.  Tape the stencils in place & dab your paint on.  I liked the texture look vs just painting it.

3.  Remove stencils & let dry.  Just makes it soooo much cuter.

Again....how easy is that?

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

4 lbs chicken wings
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup garlic (I used refrigerated minced garlic)
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (I used Kraft)

Preheat oven to 450.  Bake chicken wings for 1 hour.  Melt remaining ingredients.  When chicken is done toss with the toss & serve.

Hubby loves ranch & I love blue cheese.   Both worked great.

Danes in the Grove - Maggie

Maggie, not looking very big, but just 8 days away from her new litter.  Her xray was yesterday and they counted 11 little babies.  How exciting.  Just can't wait for her little babies to be born.  Her new momma is taking very good care of her :0)

Fall canvas - finished

Not bad :0)....they look pretty.  I went ahead & added leaves, pumpkin, feather, sprinkled very little glitter on it & some doo dads here & there.  I make the background, I think pop even more.

Fall canvas - day 1 & day 2

Original idea was seen on pinterest.  However, instead of having a black canvas & some fall leaves I wanted to do something a bit different.  When copying someone its also a good thing to add a little of your own flare to the project.

1....start with a black canvas.  if you don't have a black canvas, use white & in my case I used acrylic black paint & painted it.  left it to dry over night.

2...to add my flare i wanted more color.  so i got a burgundy paint & a brown paint, also acrylic.  added the burgundy first, because i wanted that to be the background color & the brown to mute the brightness of it.  before the burgundy paint was dry i added the brown, more burgundy, then brown...and so on.

3...again, the original idea is then to add some "bling" to it.  but right now i really like the look of these 2 canvases, so not sure if i will add the leaves & such.  once they are dry, i will see

Baby Ghosts - cross stitch

Didn't get very much done on it yesterday.  Working with very dark colors, which I prefer over whites, creams or light yellows.  Colors currently are black, dark purple, dark green & grey.

Autumn Birdhouse

No clue why, but I have been wanting to decorate birdhouses. Seems that this would be popular back in the 80's...but I don't know, I like it. Sky is the limit on what your idea can be. My second attempt at a birdhouse :0)

My original idea was to use cardstock to cover up the unpainted house. However, I decided to paint the whole birdhouse with a brown basecoat. Then I added some burgundy, mixed with more brown paint & basically sponged painted the whole thing. Still planned on using cardstock, but I really enjoyed how the color came out. Grabbed some leaves off a garland. A little bit of doo dads for the front...and woohoo, a simple little birdhouse.

Dragon Rip - by Anne Stokes, finished cross stitch

OMG!!!!  Can I say awesome?????  Picked up at the framers 11/5/16.  Started this back in 2013, was rotated with other projects.  Loved him, hated the soft fabric.  But I just wouldn't give up.  Thank goodness that I didn't.

He is now hanging in the family room & I just can't stop looking at him.  Happy, happy, happy

Elf in Wood - cross stitch

Many moons ago, one of my young dogs got a hold of my pretty lady.  I was devastated.  I put her up for about 9 months.  Working on other projects but always thinking about her.  The hole that is in her hair, left hand side will be covered up with "bling".  There is just no way to repair this gaping hole, it is shredded.  I have her "bling", but will not be adding it until I feel that the hoop will not disturb the repair.  I do have a great update to her, 1/2 done as of 11/7/16.
